T Minus 2 Days

A super quick update on where things stand.

1. It’s been a mad house around here. Last minute packing, boxing up of first few mail drops, mailing the first mail drops, assembling my bounce box, having a going away party, last minute technical considerations, last minute financial considerations, and I’m sure a whole host of other things that I’ve already forgotten about.
2. I now have a tracking page up. Go to my page titled “Find/Track Me” near the top of the page. Here’s a direct link for it. Hopefully the current solution I have there is not the permanent solution.
3. I now have an itinerary page up. There’s a spreadsheet that’s displayed. It is a constant work in progress and will be updated as things change. Here’s a direct link for it.
4. Oh yeah, my start date had to be slightly altered due to lodging reservation considerations. (In other words, I waited too long to make my reservations) My start date on the trail is now Friday, March 13th. How fitting, remember how I brought a Jason Hockey Mask on my last shakedown? Turns out it was a case of foreshadowing! That means we drive down on March 11th, stay in Dahlonega, GA at the Hiker Hostel on March 12th, then hit the trail on March 13th.

In summary, I have drastically underestimated how much time the logistics planning process for this would take. Everything I’ve done in the past few weeks should’ve been done over the past 6 months. I jokingly thought to myself this morning that, if I even make it to the trail in Georgia and quit the next day, I can consider this whole endeavor a success.

But don’t worry. That’s not gonna happen.

And oh yeah, I decided to give everyone’s eyes a rest and not post any pictures this time.
