Below is my itinerary as planned. It should be noted that anything beyond the current date is purely speculative! I’ve planned this somewhat conservatively, particularly during the early days. A lot of the start/end points are the names of shelters or campsites. Other start/end points are the names of towns or road crossings (given by Interstate/US/State route number). If you’re trying to use this to meet up with me, it would be helpful to have skills in reading and using maps. If you aren’t, my advice is to find someone who is!
The names of shelters won’t make much sense without an actual map of the Appalachian Trail. You can buy a physical one from the ATC Store (Appalachian Trail Conservancy). The ATC also has an interactive map here. The interactive map allows you to optionally display shelters, parking areas, and more. Alternatively, you can use Google Maps which will show the trail itself, but not the shelters. My favorite way to see the trail is through Google Earth. By downloading this KML file and importing it into Google Earth, you get a view of the A.T. along with all the shelters.
